Fashion Week held at Macy’s in Philadelphia last week, met with great success by Picchiani & Barlacchi, has come to an end. Following are the thanks received from the mayor of Philadelphia on occasion of the initiative.

Dear Ms. Giovanna Montauti and Mr. Luca Parri,

I am pleased that you have both come to Philadelphia to showcase Picchiani e Barlacchi, your family’s business. Your historic company and its designs will show Philadelphians some of the best of Florence!

Although you will be busy at Macy’s during most of your stay, I’m sure our Sister City Office has arranged time for you to explore Philadelphia’s rich history, world-class museums and our great restaurants and night life. We are not as old as Florence, but America’s history really begins here – as does a great time.

I understand you will be staying with a nice Philadelphia host. That means that you both will have a richer American experience because of Sandy Cadwalader and will see the more personal side of your Sister City while making a new Philadelphia friend.

After the activities of last week’s exciting Papal visit I am taking a holiday with my family and unfortunately will be away during your visit. I regret not being able to meet and thank you personally for being a part of the exchange – however several officials in my administration are looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you on my behalf.

With kind regards,
Michael A. Nutter
